Chef David is a California native — He was born in Long Beach and spent the beginning of his childhood in Northern California. After a stint at a farm in Oregon, and the suburbs of Phoenix he moved to the Bay Area in 1990 and currently lives San Francisco with his fiancée and son.
Chef David started cooking at the tender age of ten when he made my first meal for my family: ground beef tacos! At 14 he was working in a local pizza joint and at just 19 he was promoted to Chef in Scottsdale, a Spanish restaurant called Tapas Papas Fritas. By 23 he was working as Sous Chef at Stars, a Chef Jeremiah Tower restaurant. Since then, he’s worked at great Bay Area restaurants: Boulevard, Fog City Diner and Sutro’s at the Cliff House among others.
Chef David has traveled to Costa Rica and China, spending time as a Chef both opening restaurants and starting organic farm-to-table experiences. All of these experiences have helped shaped David’s cooking in one way or another.
