Jason has been cooking in people’s homes since he was a kid. At the age of 16 at his first professional job at Va Pensiero in Evanston, IL (just north of Chicago) he ran the in-home catering events for the customers. This usually was for 6-20 people with 3-8 course options. The most recent experience cooking as a private chef was for musicians while he was the Executive Chef for a tour catering company. Some of his clients included Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, The Rolling Stones, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride, Zach Brown, Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Joan Jett, Huey Lewis, Old Dominion and Sam Hunt.
After meeting his wife, being out on the road 10 months out of the year seemed less desirable and he found a job with Whole Foods that gives him a great schedule and allows him to focus on health and clean cooking.
He has developed his food presentation and scratch cooking skills through working at many fine dining establishments, honed his communication and daily operation skills while employed with Hyatt and running six outlets, built his catering ability while cooking on the road for famous musicians on tour, and developed a strong understanding for Whole Foods Market’s operations while in the position of Research and Development Chef and Culinary Coordinator.
